Awards and achievements. Most students are laureates of international and all-Russian competitions (named after E. Mravinsky, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, A. Nesterov, etc.). Teaching staff and graduates take an active part in the National Project for Culture, in the work of the Association of Wind Bands and Wind and Percussion Performers “The Valery Khalilov Wind Society.

Teaching staff.The highly qualified teaching staff of the department includes Doctors of Arts, PhDs, Honored Artists, Honored Art Workers, Honored Cultural Workers of the RF, laureates of international competitions, soloists of top musical bands of Russia and Moscow.

Strategic partners.The world’s top brass wind performers – Ronald Romm, Leonard Candelaria (USA), Michael Ohnimus (Germany); the departments of wind instruments of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Ural, Nizhny Novgorod conservatories; Rostropovich Orenburg State Institute of Arts; music colleges of Kirov, Vladimir, and Ryazan; orchestras of famous Russian theaters and philharmonic orchestras; the Russian National Museum of Music, the Central House of Art Workers, the House of Scientists in Moscow, St. Petersburg Music House.

Facilities and resources.Specially equipped classrooms for individual and practical classes in special disciplines, a library, an electronic reading hall, four concert halls, recording and video equipment.

Education. Academic activity is maintained at a high level due to creative and concert performance activities. Students undertake internships at Gnesins Academy, in the largest halls of Moscow and Russia, Gnesins State Musical College, State Academy of Brass Wind Art, Gnesins Moscow Specialized Secondary Music School.

Opportunities for students. Students undertake their teaching internship at Moscow Children’s Music School named after V.M. Blazhevich, Gnessin Moscow Specialized Secondary Music School, State Academy of Brass Wind Art, Moscow State Institute of Music named after A.G. Schnittke. Students of the department give concerts in other cities every month. They have already visited Tver, Ryazan, Vladimir, Cheboksary, Yoshkar-Ola, Rostov-on-Don, Kirov, Volgograd. Concerts are given at colleges and universities. Teaching staff and students participate in creative schools, master classes abroad, give solo and chamber concerts in Armenia (Yerevan Conservatory), China (the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing), Poland, Kazakhstan, perform on tours in Europe and Asia as part of top Russian musical bands.

Employment prospects. Alumni of the department are employed by the best symphonic and wind band orchestras of Russia. The employment rate is 100%. The alumni include more than 120 laureates of all-Russian and international competitions. Possible job positions: ensemble performer, orchestra performer, teacher, director of on-stage performance groups.
