About the magazine

The journal «Russian Musicology» is a Russian academic publication intended to publish the main results of research by leading scientists and applicants for scientific degrees (doctoral and candidate degrees). Manuscripts undergo «double-blind» review, reviews are stored in the editorial office for 5 years. The editorial policy of the journal is based on the recommendations of international organizations on the ethics of scientific publications: the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the European Association of Science Editors (EASE).

The publication «Problems of Musical Science» ISSN 1997-0854 was created by Doctor of Art History, Professor L. N. Shaimukhametova in 2007 and registered by the Editorial Office (address: 450008, Ufa, Lenin St., 14) and co-founding universities as a print media (PI No. FS 77-29960 dated 10/17/2007).

The journal was re-registered due to a change in the composition of the co-founders and renaming to «Problems of Music Science / Music Scholarship» (PI No. FS 77-66656 dated July 27, 2016) in 2016.

The media «Problems of Music Science / Music Scholarship» was registered in 2020 with Roskomnadzor as an online publication with the domain name journalpmn.ru (EL No. FS 77-78770 dated July 30, 2020), ISSN 2782-3598, DOI: 10.56620/2782-3598 

The scientific journal is considered included in the List of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in accordance with clause 5 of Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated December 12, 2016 No. 1586.

Scientific directions of the periodical: «Art Criticism», «Cultural Studies», «Pedagogical Sciences».

The journal is indexed in international citation databases Scopus (content coverage from 2016 to August 2021) (SJR quartile: 2018 – Q1, 2019 – Q1, 2020 – Q2), included in the core Web of Science Core Collection (ESCI), collection Music Index / EBSCO, in the International Catalog of Musical Literature Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale (RILM) , Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), European Reference Index for the Humanities (ERIH PLUS) system.

Archival sets of the journal are contained in the Russian Scientific Electronic Library and are included in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).
