Journal "Scientific Notes of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Sciences"

“Scientific Notes of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music” is a scientific periodical publication (magazine).

The journal publishes:

  • articles about current problems of modern musicology and music pedagogy;
  • results of the latest research by domestic musicologists;
  • monuments of world music science;
  • translations of works by foreign authors of the 20th–21st centuries;
  • reviews of new books about music.
Journal "Sovremennye problemy muzykoznaniya / Contemporary Musicology"
Sovremennye problemy muzykoznaniya / Contemporary Musicology is an open-access peer-reviewed scholarly online journal.

Founded: 2017.

The Journal publishes research studies in the field of music history and theory, music performance, as well as the methodology of music studies in interdisciplinary contexts. The Journal’s scope corresponds to the subject categorie of 5.10.3. Types of Art (Musical Art) (Art History).

Languages of publication: Russian and English.
The Editorial Team is guided by the Core Practices developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Only original and previously unpublished materials are accepted for consideration of publication and peer review. The Journal publishes original research and review articles, translations of foreign studies with commentaries, analysis of historical documents, and book reviews.

Contemporary Musicology is included in the List of Peer-Reviewed Scientific Journals recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission (VAK), in which major research results from the dissertations of Candidates of Sciences (Cand. Sci.) and Doctor of Science (Dr. Sci.) degrees are to be published.

All the archival materials of the journal are preserved in the Federal State Budgetary Institution Scientific and Technical Center “Informregister”, which acts as an external repository. The Journal is indexed in the RINTS scientific database; all publications are deposited in the Scientific Electronic Library eLIBRARY.RU.

The journal is registered in the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications, Certificate of Registration: ЭЛ № ФС 77 - 86261 27.10.2023.

Journal "Problems of Music Science / Music Scholarship"

The journal “Problems of Musical Science / Music Scholarship” is a Russian academic publication intended to publish the main results of research by leading scientists and applicants for scientific degrees (doctoral and candidate degrees). Manuscripts undergo “double-blind” review, reviews are stored in the editorial office for 5 years. The editorial policy of the journal is based on the recommendations of international organizations on the ethics of scientific publications: the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the European Association of Science Editors (EASE).

Collections of articles based on the materials of the conference “Research of Young Musicologists”

“Research of Young Musicologists” is an annual scientific conference of graduate and undergraduate students dedicated to various issues of musicology. Following the results of the conference, a collection of publications by young researchers is traditionally published.

Journal "Questions of Ethnomusicology"

The journal publishes articles on a wide range of topical problems of modern ethnomusicology, discusses issues of the theory and practice of ethnomusicology, analysis of musical and folklore texts, the geography of traditional musical culture, and the historiography of our science.

Bulletin of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music

The periodical electronic scientific publication “Bulletin of the Gnesins RAM” opened publication in 2006. Over the years, 13 issues have been published. The authors of the articles are well-known musicologists and young graduate students just starting their path in science. The range of research topics is diverse and wide: from the music of the Renaissance to postmodern composers, from folk ritual traditions to ancient Russian church singing genres...
