To issue a student ID card, you need a copy of your passport with a verified translation into Russian and 2 photos 3*4. The student ID card is the first document that enables you to get all the other documents listed in this section. A first-year student can receive a student ID card starting from September 1 of the first academic year.

The document is issued by the Dean’s office of your faculty on the basis of an order for admission/transfer/re-admission (view map).
For students of the Gnesin State Musical College:
The document is issued by the Dean’s office of your faculty on the basis of an order for admission/transfer/re-admission (view map).
For students of the Music College of Pop and Jazz Art:
The document is being prepared by the Academic Department of the Musical College of Pop and Jazz Art on the basis of an order for admission/transfer/re-admission. Please, visit room 10 on the ground floor.
Note! If you lose your student ID card, you must contact the Dean’s office of your faculty/the College Study Department to get a new student ID card. This is a fee-based service. The service delivery term varies from 7 to 10 working days from the date of payment.
Electronic access card
An electronic access card is needed to access the building and facilities of the Academy.
Electronic access card at the Main Academy Building entrance
For students of the Academy:
An electronic access card is valid inside the Academy and the Gnesin State Musical College facilities. To apply for the electronic access card, students of the Academy must visit room 13a (it’s located on the ground floor of the Academy, view map) and show the student ID card.
For students of the Gnesin State Musical College:
An electronic access card is issued by the Administrative office (room 7 on the 1st floor of the Academy, view map) upon presentation of a student ID card, and is valid within the Gnesin State Musical College facilities.
For students of the Music College of Pop and Jazz Art:
An electronic access card is valid inside the Gnesin State Musical College and the Musical College of Pop and Jazz Art facilities. To get an electronic access card, a student must visit room 9 at the State Musical College of Jazz and Popular Music facilities and submit a student ID card.
Library pass
While you undergo your training course, you may subscribe to the Academy library. In the library you can find necessary music sheets or educational and scientific literature dedicated to music for your studies.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 17:00 (room 4, ground floor, view map).

Students of the Gnessin State Musical College use the College library (7st floor, view map).
Students of the Musical College of Pop and Jazz Art use the Academy library. You must have a student ID card to present it to the security at the entrance into the College.
Note! Don’t forget to return music sheets or study books on time, otherwise you’ll be charged with a fine.
Bank card
All types of scholarships, as well as any financial support are paid by bank transfer to the bank cards of the National Payment Card System MIR. The Academy together with the JSC Bank Uralsib issues scholarship bank cards with free service. A foreign citizen can get a scholarship, if his/her education is subsidized by the government of the Russian Federation, including on the quota basis.
To receive a scholarship bank card:
Prepare a package of documents (a copy of your passport with a verified translation into Russian + tax identification number).
Submit the documents to the Accounting and Management Statements Department of the Academy (tel.: +7 (495) 691-27-78; room 303, 4th floor, view map).
10 working days after the Accounting Department gets your documents, you can receive your scholarship bank card at a local branch of JSC Bank Uralsib.

How can a foreign citizen get a tax identification number (hereinafter TIN)?
Prepare the following documents: a) an application form for registration with a tax authority (you can get the application form at a local tax office); b) an ID document of a foreign citizen in the Russian Federation (+ a copy with a verified translation into Russian) with a note of registration at the place of residence in the Russian Federation.
Submit the documents to the Federal Tax Service Inspectorate No. 4 for Moscow (Bldg. 2, 12, Dovatora Str., Moscow, tel.: +7 495 400-03-88).
Within 5 working days of the day of receipt of the documents, the Tax Inspectorate registers and issues your certificate of registration with a tax authority.

Student social (travel) card
All full-time students (except for students of preparatory and postgraduate courses) can get a social card, which can be used as a discounted ticket for travel by public transport, as well as a bank card for non-cash payments for goods and services.

Social card for Moscow residents
Before you apply for a social card, you must make sure that your data is included in the student register on the Moscow Social Register Web site. The procedure takes up to 30 calendar days.
Note! Students of the Gnesin State Musical College get a travel card according to a special procedure as they must have a certificate confirming the current status of a student in the Social and Educational Work Department and go to a «My Documents» MFC office.
