«Silk Road 2026»: Gnesinka and Xi'an Conservatory of Music marked Joint Steps for Cooperation

As part of the International Conference on Cooperation in Industry, Education, Research, and Application «Silk Road 2026,» a meeting was held between Daria Rodionova, Head of the Department of Music Art Management at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music and Academic Secretary of the Academic Council, and a delegation from the Xi'an Conservatory of Music, upon the invitation of the Education Department of Shaanxi Province.

The Chinese side was represented by: 

• Chen Yong — Deputy Director of Xi'an Conservatory of Music, Professor (tenor);
• Tian Hui — Head of the International Department, Professor (violinist);
• Zhao Wei — Head of the International Relations Office;
• Xiao Chunxia — Head of the Office for Foreign Students;
• Liang Yiwen — External Relations Specialist;
• Yuan Jianjun — Deputy Head of the Disciplines Office of the Master's and Postgraduate Programs Department, Professor (musicologist).

«We were received very warmly. Xi'an Conservatory is a strong and large-scale institution, comparable in many respects to Gnesin Academy in terms of structure and educational objectives. What is especially valuable is that we share a common understanding of the role of contemporary creative education and the need to develop international academic ties,» emphasized Daria Rodionova.

As part of the program, an International Conference on Experience Exchange in Education was also held, themed: «Digital and Intelligent Education: Expanding the Capabilities of the Silk Road.»

The parties discussed prospects for academic exchange, the development of joint educational programs, as well as the role of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the development of contemporary creative education along the «Silk Road.»

The Meeting was held as a part of Exchange years of Russia and China, which were initiated by the president of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the president of China Xi Jinping. As the leader of Russia highlighted, international cooperative projects are essential to prepare a new generation of specialists. And our Special attention is given to the development of humanitarian ties, cultural and youth exchanges.
