The pianist and dean of the Faculty of Jazz and Popular Music Valerii Grokhovsky and saxophonist and graduate of the Royal Antwerp Conservatoire Vadim Tkachuk performed at the musical evening. The musicians performed jazz improvisations on the themes of melodies from films and Russian folk songs.
The concert was preceded by a presentation of the exhibition of the Russian National Museum of Music ‘Rachmaninov: Known and Unknown’, conducted by Director of the Museum Mikhail Bryzgalov.
It is very symbolic that the Gnesin virtuoso's concert is preceded by an exhibition dedicated to the great composer Sergei Rachmaninoff - a friend and classmate of Elena Gnesina
The concert at the Russian House in Brussels marked the beginning of a programme of joint events with the Gnessin Academy planned for the coming year
