Aleksei Vaker was born in 1991 in the city of Tomsk. In 2015 he completed his bachelor’s degree and in 2017 his master’s degree in piano at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow in the class of Professor, Honoured Art Worker of Russia Tamara Markovna Rusanova.
Laureate of numerous All-Russian and international competitions, including:
- International Maria Yudina Competition (St Petersburg, 2014) – 1st prize;
- International Vera Lotar-Shevchenko Memorial Competition (Yekaterinburg, 2014) – 2nd prize, after which he took part in a large concert tour of cities in France;
- 15th Youth Delphic Games of Russia (Tyumen, 2016) – Gold Medal;
- «Young Classical Virtuosos of Tomorrow» International Competition (Philadelphia, USA, 2017) – Grand Prix.
He has taken part in masterclasses given by Dmitri Bashkirov, Vladimir Mishchuk and Sergei Dreznin.
In 2018 he was invited to and performed at the Festival of Russian Music in Novara, Italy; in 2019 he took part in the Festival of Russian Art in Cannes, France.
Since 2020 he has taught in the Department of Piano Performance and the Department of Chamber Ensemble at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow.
In 2022, as a teacher, he gave masterclasses within the framework of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music International Summer School. In 2023 and 2024 he took part in concerts and gave masterclasses within the International School of Musical Sciences in Erice, Italy.
In 2024 he performed in a series of concerts at Russian Cultural Centres in Rome, Vienna, Brussels, Berlin and Grodno.
In September 2024 he gave a solo recital at Nanjing University of the Arts and a series of masterclasses at music schools in Nanjing, China.
He has appeared on prestigious stages in Moscow, St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Minsk, Rome, Naples, Berlin, Bonn, Bayreuth, Vienna, Paris, Lyon, Philadelphia and other cities and countries.
He has given masterclasses in Russia, Belarus, Italy and China.
