Biography

Karina Tumurova graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory as a pianist and teacher and completed professional retraining in «English: Theory and Methods of Teaching in Vocational Education».

She is currently an assistant‑intern at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in the class of Professor Vladislav P. Ovchinnikov, People’s Artist of Russia. She has worked as a teacher at Children’s Music School No. 62 named after Nikolai A. Petrov in Moscow and as assistant to the Director‑General of a commercial organisation.

As a pianist she performs both as a soloist and with orchestra in various venues in Russia and abroad. She has taken part in festivals such as «Bringing Friends Together» (Moscow), «Five Evenings» (Moscow), and «Constellation of Youth» (Ulan‑Ude). She is a laureate of international competitions, including the Huesca International Piano Competition in Spain (Second Prize), and a laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Buryatia.
