Biography

She has studied music since the age of seven at the Central Secondary Special Music School at the Moscow Conservatory (class of Vasily Ivanovich Ermakov). Since 1992 she has studied at the Moscow Gnessin Secondary Special School of Music (class of Professor Vera Borisovna Nosina).

Since December 1998 she has been a scholarship holder of the Royal College of Music in London (supervisor – Professor Irina Zaritskaya).

In 2003 she graduated from the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music with degrees in «Piano Performance» (class of Professor V. B. Nosina), «Collaborative Piano» (class of Associate Professor A. M. Aksyonov) and «Chamber Ensemble» (class of Professor I. A. Chernyavsky). In 2005 she completed her postgraduate studies at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music (supervisor – Professor V. B. Nosina).

She has worked at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music since 2005, initially as an assistant teacher in the Department of Piano Performance. Since September 2009 L. A. Reznikova has been a piano teacher in the Department of Organ and Harpsichord at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music. Since 2012 she has taught in the Department of Piano Performance. Since 2017 she has been Senior Lecturer, and since 2021 Associate Professor of the department.

L. A. Reznikova is a laureate and diploma winner of many prestigious international competitions, in particular:

  • Diploma winner of the 3rd International Piano Competition named after Dvarionas (Vilnius, 1994);
  • Laureate of the 2nd International Competition of Musicians «Youth Assemblies of Arts» (Moscow, 1994);
  • Laureate of the 2nd International Young Pianists’ Competition named after F. Chopin (Moscow, 1996);
  • Grand Prix winner of the International Competition «Art of the 21st Century» (Kyiv, Ukraine, 2001);
  • Grand Prix winner of the International Forum «Young Performers of the 21st Century» (Athens, Greece, 2002);
  • Laureate of the International Competition for Young Performers in Denmark (2003);
  • Winner of the «Golden Parnassus» prize of the International Forum of the festival «Bieszczady without Borders» (Poland, 2017).

Concerts by L. A. Reznikova take place on world-renowned stages such as the Great, Small and Rachmaninov Halls of the Moscow Conservatory and the Great Hall of the Moscow International House of Music. She tours many cities in Russia and abroad: in France, England, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, Mexico, the USA, Greece and Cyprus.

L. A. Reznikova successfully combines solo performance with playing in various chamber ensembles with violinists, cellists and singers. Her repertoire includes piano concertos with orchestra, many of which she has performed with symphony and chamber orchestras of Russia under V. Verbitsky, V. Ryzhaev, D. Orlov, A. Poletaev, S. Kazyulin, A. Khurgin, T. Mynbayev, I. Gromov and A. Ogievsky. A notable event in her career was a recital in February 1998 with cellist Dmitry Prokofiev in the Auditorium of the Louvre Museum in Paris.

She has given charity concerts in various cities of the USA in support of seriously ill orphaned children from Russia. Her performances have been broadcast many times on radio and television in Russia and abroad.

She serves on the juries of international competitions and gives masterclasses in Russia and abroad.

The pianist’s repertoire is extensive and includes works by classical and romantic composers as well as composers of the 20th century.

The students of L. A. Reznikova are laureates of international competitions.
