Svetlana G. Ragel graduated from the Maxim Gorky Minsk State Pedagogical Institute, Faculty of History and Foreign Languages (English and Italian), with a degree in «Teacher of History and Foreign Language». During her studies she undertook an internship at Swan College, Oxford University.
She has taught in higher education since 1995.
She has worked as a teacher of English at RUDN University, the Academy of the Federal Security Service, and the Russian Foreign Trade Academy (RFTA).
She currently continues to work at RFTA in the Department of English for International Business as an Associate Professor, teaching General and Business English (her primary position).
She is Head of the full‑time Master’s programmes in the Faculty of Foreign Trade Management at RFTA in the fields «International Business» and «Logistics».
Since 2015 she has also worked part‑time at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music as an Associate Professor in the Department of Producing and Management for the Performing Arts, teaching Business English.
She is the author of the textbook Basics of Logistics, as well as author and co‑author of numerous teaching materials on aspects of international business. She is currently working on a textbook for producers.
She writes and publishes articles and regularly takes part in scholarly and practical conferences on the teaching of foreign languages in non‑linguistic universities.
She is actively involved in professional‑development programmes on «Modern Approaches to Teaching Foreign Languages in Non‑Linguistic Universities».
