Valeriy S. Poroshenkov

Порошенков Валерий Сергеевич

Biography

In 2009 he graduated from the Voronezh Music College with a specialisation in orchestral string instruments (violin), in the class of Professor S. S. Ivanova.

He received his higher education at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music (2009–2014), studying at the Faculty of History, Theory, and Composition, Department of Analytical Musicology, specialising in musicology. His academic supervisor was Doctor of Art Studies, Professor I. P. Susidko.

He completed postgraduate studies at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in 2017 in the specialisation 17.00.02 «Musical Art». His dissertation topic was «German Theories of Form and Their Reception in the Instrumental Music of S. Prokofiev and D. Shostakovich». His academic supervisor was Doctor of Art Studies, Professor I. P. Susidko.

He has taken part in international musicological conferences:

  • «Issledovaniya molodykh muzykovedov» («Research of Young Musicologists»), Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, 2013.
  • «Prokofiev. Twenty‑First Century», Glinka All‑Russia Museum Association of Musical Culture, 2016, and others.

He has repeatedly acted as organiser and presenter of concerts at the N. S. Golovanov Memorial Apartment‑Museum (a branch of the Glinka Museum) in 2013–2014.

Since 2017 he has worked as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Analytical Musicology.
