Tatyana E. Pechnikova

In 1983 she graduated from the F. I. Shalyapin Music School, where she studied piano. From 1983 to 1985 she undertook pedagogical practice in piano at the Gnesin Institute, then completed studies at the Second Moscow Regional Music College in the piano class of A. N. Gutman. She graduated from the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in 1998 (class of E. B. Obolenskaya). From 1985 to 1987 she worked as music director at Kindergarten No. 959 in Moscow, and from 1987 to 1992 as music director at the Solntsevo Inter‑Cultural Centre.

In 1999 T. E. Pechnikova joined the company of the Novaya Opera Theatre in Moscow. She has toured with concert programmes throughout Russia and abroad. Her concert repertoire includes some of the most famous arias from operas by Russian and international composers.

Her roles at the Novaya Opera Theatre include:

• Iolanta and Tatyana in Tchaikovsky’s «Iolanta» and «Eugene Onegin»;
• Kupava in Rimsky‑Korsakov’s «The Snow Maiden»;
• Lyudmila in Glinka’s «Ruslan and Lyudmila»;
• Martha in Rimsky‑Korsakov’s «The Tsar’s Bride»;
• Adina in Donizetti’s «L’elisir d’amore»;
• Violetta in Verdi’s «La Traviata»;
• Giselda in Verdi’s «I Lombardi alla prima crociata»;
• Lauretta in Puccini’s «Gianni Schicchi»;
• Léïla in Bizet’s «Les Pêcheurs de perles» («The Pearl Fishers»);
• Leonora in Verdi’s «Il trovatore»;
• Lucrezia in Verdi’s «I due Foscari»;
• Nedda in Leoncavallo’s «Pagliacci»;
• Norma in Bellini’s «Norma»;
• Pamina in Mozart’s «Die Zauberflöte» («The Magic Flute»), among others.

She has sung soprano parts in the theatre’s productions:

• laureate of the Yevgeny Kolobov Foundation Prize «For Selfless Service to the Art of Opera».
