Born in Moscow on 22 May 1973.
From 1990 to 1994 she studied at the Gnesin State Music College, and in 1998 graduated with distinction from the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music with a degree in Folk Choir Conducting.
From 1999 to 2012 she worked as a repetiteur in the Vocal Arts Department of the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS).
Since 2000 she has taught in the Department of Choral and Solo Folk Singing at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, becoming Senior Lecturer in 2006 and Associate Professor in 2012. From 2010 to 2012 she also served as Associate Professor in the Arts and Creative Work Department of the Russian State Social University. She was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in 2018.
In 2009, under the supervision of Professor M. V. Medvedeva, A. Yu. Patoshina successfully defended her Candidate of Sciences dissertation on «Developing Intonational Hearing in Students of Folk‑Singing Departments at Universities of Culture and the Arts». From 2012 she has served as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Folk Art, and in 2014 she was confirmed as Dean of the Faculty.
A. Yu. Patoshina takes part in numerous international and inter‑university academic‑practical conferences and serves on juries and organising committees for competitions. She contributes to professional‑development programmes for teachers run by the continuing‑education centres of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music and the V. S. Popov Academy of Choral Art.
She is the author of two teaching‑methodology manuals and fifty scholarly articles, six of which have been published in journals recognised by the Russian Higher Attestation Commission.
In 2021 A. Yu. Patoshina received an Honorary Certificate from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education «For significant contributions to education and many years of dedicated service».
