Biography

Musicologist, teacher, music‑community figure, and performer.

In 1986 she graduated from the Theory Department of the Krasnodar Music College named after N. A. Rimsky‑Korsakov (teachers: Z. M. Krivtsova, E. B. Bogdanova). In 1991 she graduated with honours from the Gnesin State Music and Pedagogical Institute, where she studied with F. G. Arzamanov, B. S. Ionin, L. V. Popelyash, R. K. Shirinyan, S. E. Senkov, and others, and specialised under Professor, Doctor of Art Studies Natalya Sergeyevna Gulyanitskaya. She completed postgraduate studies at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in 1994.

She defended her Candidate dissertation «The Poetics of Nikolai Korndorf’s Style» (supervisor: Professor N. S. Gulyanitskaya) before the Dissertation Council of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in 2004.

Yu. N. Panteleyeva began teaching in 1991. She has taught at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music since 1994, initially in the Department of Foreign Languages and later in the Department of Harmony and Solfeggio. She currently teaches theoretical disciplines to students of the Faculty of History, Theory, and Composition and to students of performance faculties, and supervises postgraduate and master’s theses. She has taken part in numerous Russian and international scholarly conferences held at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, the State Institute for Art Studies, the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatoire, and elsewhere.

From 2010 to 2014 she served as Vice‑Rector for Scholarly and Creative Work at the State Specialised Institute of Art (from 2013, the Russian State Specialised Arts Academy). During this period the institution opened postgraduate programmes in several scholarly specialisations and assistantship‑traineeships in music, theatre, and visual arts.

Since 2020 she has been a member of the Scholarly Council and of the Editorial and Publishing Council of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music.

In 2020 she received an Honorary Certificate from the President of the Russian Federation and a commemorative medal «For Selfless Contribution to the Organisation of the Nationwide Mutual Aid Campaign #WeAreTogether». In the same year she was awarded a letter of thanks from the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Since 2022 she has headed the Scholarly and Creative Centre for Contemporary Music.
