Biography

Choirmaster, teacher.

Education: in 1984 she graduated from the Gnesin State Music College (class of Sergei A. Borodin, Honoured Cultural Worker of the Russian Federation), and in 1989 from the Gnesin State Music and Pedagogical Institute (class of Elena N. Sveshnikova, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor).

Since 1989 she has taught specialist subjects in the Choral Conducting Cycle Commission at the Gnesin College.

All her graduates continue their education at leading music universities in Moscow and work in choral ensembles and educational institutions in Russia and abroad. One of her former students, Pyotr Savinkov, after graduating from the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory and its postgraduate programme, was invited to teach at the Gnesin College and now successfully works there as a teacher of conducting, gives a course in choral studies, and directs the College’s academic and chamber choirs.

From 1988 to 1994 she was choirmaster of the A. V. Sveshnikov State Academic Russian Choir. From 1994 to 2012 she served as Deputy Director for Educational and Production Work and Internships at the Gnesin State Music College, and from 2012 to 2014 as Director of the Gnesin College of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music.

Since September 2012 she has been a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Applied Musical Arts of the Faculty of History, Theory, and Composition at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, teaching choral ensemble, choral performance practice, and conducting.

Since July 2014 she has headed the Department of Music Education in the same faculty, overseeing the bachelor’s programme 53.03.06 Musicology and Applied Musical Arts, profile: Music Education.

She has served on the juries of various choral competitions and festivals, including:

  • April 2008 – First All‑Russian Children’s Easter Vocal and Choral Festival «Svetlaya sedmitsa»;
  • February 2009 – competition for conductors of choral ensembles within the international festival programme of children’s creativity «Friends of Bulgaria»;
  • April 2009 – All‑Russian Open Children’s Easter Vocal and Choral Festival.
