Timofey K. Mayakin

In 1989 he graduated from the Moscow Military Music School, in 1994 from the Military Conducting Faculty of the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, and in 2002 completed full‑time postgraduate studies at the same Faculty in Conducting.

Since 1994 he has served in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and in August 2016 he was appointed Chief of the Military Band Service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and Principal Military Conductor.

Since 2002 he has taught at the Gnesin State Music College, the Moscow Military Conservatoire, and the Military Institute of Military Conductors.

Since November 2020 he has been Associate Professor in the Orchestral Conducting Department of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music.

In 2010 he defended his Candidate of Philosophical Sciences dissertation «The Military‑Musical Culture of Russia» (a historical and cultural analysis).

He is the author of ten published (and equivalent) works with a total volume of forty printed sheets.

In 2006 he was awarded the honorary title «Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation».
