Born in 1957.
In 1976 he graduated from the Gnesin State Music College (bayan class of V. F. Nazarov and Al. T. Gatsenko), and in 1981 from the correspondence department of the Gnesin State Music and Pedagogical Institute (now the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, bayan class of M. I. Imkhanitsky).
From 1980 to 1982 he worked as an instrumentalist with the Moscow Musical Ensembles Association, and from 1982 to 1986 as an instrumentalist in the Rossiya Dance Ensemble (Rosconcert). Since 1986 he has been Music Director of the ensemble «Rossiyane» (later «Kupina», Artistic Director L. Ya. Zhuk). From 1988 he has also served as repetiteur in the Solo Folk‑Singing Department of the Gnesin Academy, from 1993 as teacher of garmoshka at the A. G. Schnittke Moscow State Music College, and since 1995 as a folk‑instruments teacher at the A. G. Schnittke Moscow State Institute of Music.
In 2016 he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor.
He serves as chair and jury member at many competitions and festivals, including:
- the 1st All‑Russian Music Competition (St Petersburg, gusli, 2013);
- the All‑Russian and International Children’s and Youth Creativity Competition «Roza vetrov»;
- the All‑Russian and International Children’s and Youth Creativity Competition «Slavsya, Otechestvo!»;
- the 6th International Competition for Performers on Folk Instruments and Folk‑Song Performers (Smolensk, 2014);
- the International Instrumental Performance Competition «Zelenogradskaya syuita detstva» (Zelenograd, 2015–2017);
- the 7th All‑Russian Festival‑Competition «Simvoly natsional’noy kultury» (Moscow, 2020), among others.
He takes part in academic‑practical conferences in Moscow and across Russia, including:
- the International Academic‑Practical Conference «Gusli: istoriya i perspektivy izucheniya» (St Petersburg, 2010);
- «Problemy i perspektivy razvitiya narodno‑pevcheskogo ispolnitel’stva i obrazovaniya v Rossii» (Moscow, 2008–2017);
- «Sokhraneniye natsional’nykh traditsiy v narodno‑instrumental’nom iskusstve: problemy i perspektivy» (Moscow, 2017).
His compositions are included in the teaching‑methodology manuals for ringing gusli «Iskusstvo igry na guslyakh» (1998) and «Iskusstvo igry na mnogostrunnykh bezgrifnykh shchipkovykh instrumentakh» (2007). He is the author of concert pieces and arrangements of Russian folk songs and dances for bayan, garmoshka, gusli, as well as instrumentations and arrangements for various folk‑instrument ensembles, many of which have been published. He is a laureate of international competitions and festivals and a diploma winner at all‑Russian competitions.
