Biography

After graduating from the Arkhangelsk Music College (class of L. S. Fedorova), from 2003 to 2008 she studied at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in the Department of Piano Performance (class of Professor E. E. Strikovskaya, Associate Professor A. V. Starodubrovsky and Professor V. P. Samoletov). In 2015 she completed postgraduate studies at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music (Department of Collaborative Piano, class of Professor E. E. Strikovskaya).

In 2016 she defended her PhD thesis on the topic «Early Chamber and Vocal Works by Nikolai Myaskovsky and Russian Poetic Symbolism» (scientific adviser – PhD in Art History, Professor T. Yu. Maslovskaya).

From 2008 to 2016 she worked as an accompanist at the Schnittke Moscow State Institute of Music, the Popov Academy of Choral Art, the School of Dramatic Art Theatre, the Gogol Center, VGIK and the «Vesnyanka» Children’s Choir Studio.

She has performed in prestigious concert halls in Moscow (Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, Svetlanov Hall of the Moscow International House of Music, the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia and others) and abroad (Germany, Greece, Belarus, Ukraine).

She has collaborated with conductors Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Valery Polyansky and Teodor Currentzis, and with stage directors Kirill Serebrennikov, Igor Yatsko, Boris Yukhananov, Konstantin Fetris and Alexandre Frandetti.

Since 2015 she has worked as guest accompanist and orchestral pianist with the State Academic Symphony Capella of Russia under Valery Polyansky, where, as vocal coach, she has prepared more than forty concert programmes featuring works in various genres: operas by Russian and foreign composers, cantatas, oratorios, masses, symphonies with choir and soloists and other repertoire.

She has taught in the Department of Collaborative Piano at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music since 2016.

She takes an active part in department events, in particular in concerts of the Gnesin Public Philharmonic (project author and artistic director – Professor E. E. Strikovskaya).

E. V. Lobanova is a laureate of international competitions.

In July 2017 she completed an advanced course «Poetry and Performance of the German Lied: From Beethoven to Strauss» at the Franz Schubert Institute (Baden bei Wien, Austria).

E. V. Lobanova combines her concert and teaching work with research. Her main interests concern Russian chamber and vocal music of the 20th century.
