For more than twenty years he has combined teaching with an active concert and studio career.
As a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Contemporary Popular Music Genres at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music and a guitar teacher at the State College of Jazz and Pop Music, Alexander Kuteynikov gives masterclasses both in Russia and abroad.
He has taken part in events at exhibitions and festivals including:
- NAMM Musikmesse;
- Musicfest;
- Music Moscow;
- the First Guitar Festival in Ples and others.
He is an active supporter of the Learnmusic charitable educational programme.
In addition to his teaching work, Alexander Kuteynikov performs in a wide range of concert projects with leading Russian and international musicians, including Ron Thal (Guns N’ Roses), Rob Gladwell (Suzi Quatro), and others.
He has recorded a solo instrumental album entitled «Eclectica».
Preparations are currently under way for concert performances of this project.
Alexander Kuteynikov also works as a session guitarist in the projects Contra J and Belaya feya with prominent Russian rock musicians such as Alexander Lavrov, Igor Lamzin, Yuri Nugmanov, Pavel Protasov, Anton Davidyants, Akhmet Gireev, Vyacheslav Molchanov, Mark Fridman, Valery Gaina, and Alexei Astashev.
