Folk singer and teacher.
Born in the Saratov Region.
In 1980 she graduated from the M. M. Ippolitov‑Ivanov Music College, Solo Folk Singing Department (class of L. F. Sukhanova). In 1985 she completed her studies at the Gnesin State Music and Pedagogical Institute in Solo Folk Singing (class of Professors L. V. Shamina and L. F. Sukhanova).
From 1971 to 1977 she was a singer with the State Kuban Cossack Choir.
From 1985 to 2000 she was a vocal soloist with Mosconcert in Moscow. In 1999 she completed an assistant‑traineeship at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music under Professor L. V. Shamina.
From 1997 to 2001 she taught Solo Folk Singing at the M. M. Ippolitov‑Ivanov Pedagogical Music Institute.
Since 2000 she has been Associate Professor at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, teaching in the Department of Choral and Solo Folk Singing and heading the Solo Folk Singing Department of the Gnesin Academy Music College.
Over her teaching career she has trained around seventy students, many of whom have become laureates of international and all‑Russian competitions and festivals.
Graduates and students of T. A. Korchagina’s class perform with leading Russian ensembles, including:
- the State Academic Kuban Cossack Choir;
- the ensemble «Russkaya pesnya» under Nadezhda Babkina;
- the Interior Ministry Orchestra;
- the Moscow Regional Philharmonic;
- the State Academic Ensemble «Beryozka»;
- the VGTRK Russian Song Choir;
- the Krasnodar State Philharmonic;
- the FSB Orchestra;
- the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Pacific Fleet, among others.
Students of her class, including Elizaveta Antova, Tatyana Poklad, Elena Ponomaryova, Alexandra Kashtanova, and Maria Legusova, have won prizes at numerous competitions such as «Samovarfest» (2017), the «Bolshoy festival‑konkurs» (2017), and the international youth talent competition «Zvezdnyy bum» (2017).
T. Korchagina has repeatedly served on juries of all‑Russian and international competitions and festivals, including:
- «Soyuz talantov Rossii»;
- «Planeta talantov»;
- «Roza vetrov»;
- «Yeseninskaya Rus’»;
- «Naslediye», among others.
As a folk singer she has toured abroad in Czechoslovakia, the FRG, the USA, Finland, Italy, Madagascar, Tanzania, and other countries.
In 2006 she was awarded the title «Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation».
