Leonid V. Kondakov

In 1969 he graduated with honours from the Gnesin State Musical and Pedagogical Institute (now the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music). In 1973 he completed the assistant traineeship at the Gnesin State Musical and Pedagogical Institute.

He has performed with the Symphony Orchestra of All‑Union Radio and Central Television, the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich‑Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre, the orchestra of the USSR State Academic Bolshoi Theatre and the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow State Philharmonic. From 1990 to 2013 he was a soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra of Russia.

Since 1972 he has taught at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music. Among the graduates of his class are laureates of all‑Russian and republican competitions, and many of his students work in leading Moscow ensembles. His students hold positions in prestigious orchestras in Moscow and abroad, and more than twenty of them are laureates of international and all‑Russian competitions.

He collaborates with the journal «Music and Time», where his articles have been published, and he also takes part in conferences.
