Composer, member of the Union of Composers of Russia.
He was born in 1970.
In 1994 he graduated from the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music with a degree in Composition in the class of Andrei I. Golovin.

P. Klimov is the author of the edition and orchestration of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s unfinished Symphony in E‑flat major, restored at the request of the Tchaikovsky House‑Museum in Klin; the symphony in his version was first performed in 2006.
He has also prepared concert versions of Mikhail Glinka’s unfinished early Symphony in B‑flat major, two incomplete dances from Glinka’s opera A Life for the Tsar, and the Prelude The Bells by Boris Tchaikovsky.

- Nostalgic Music on Themes by Sergei Nikitin for piano and chamber orchestra, performed by Ekaterina Mechetina and the chamber orchestra «Provintsiya» under Igor Lerman, March 2014, Pyotr Fomenko Workshop Theatre;
- Spirit of the Wind for wind instruments and piano, performed by the L’esprit du Vent Ensemble under Felix Nodel, Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, September 2016.
His concert versions of works by Tchaikovsky and Glinka have been performed by the Musica Viva Orchestra under Alexander Rudin and the Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia under Sergei Polyanichko in 2012–2013 in Russia, France, and Japan.
Klimov’s music is also heard in the production of the Moscow Art Theatre named after A. P. Chekhov The Precipice, directed by A. Shapiro (2010).
As an arranger and orchestral transcriber he collaborates with non‑classical musicians including Dmitry Malikov (concert programmes 2012–2016), Sergei Nikitin (arrangements for solo instruments, string orchestra, and choir, 1999–2017), and Tony Watkins (concert programmes 2016–2017).
Since 2016, as a member of the «Way to Art» team, he has given pre‑concert talks in the halls of the Moscow State Philharmonic and the Moscow International House of Music.
Klimov is the author of a volume of poetry, Motionless Light (Avalon, 2006), and has produced Russian translations of songs for numerous English‑language animated and feature films, including Mary Poppins, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Jungle Book, The Aristocats, Lady and the Tramp, Oliver & Company, The Little Mermaid, Corpse Bride, Shrek 3, Flushed Away, The Break‑Up, and others.
As part of his teaching in the courses «Instrument Studies» and «History of Orchestral Styles», he has prepared a series of audio and score‑based teaching materials.
