Христюк Роман Маркович

Biography

He graduated from the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music with a degree in Producing and from the Kutafin Moscow State Law University with a degree in Civil Law. He is currently Deputy Director of the Moscow State Budgetary Cultural Institution «Moscow Jazz Orchestra under Igor Butman» and Executive Director of Igor Butman Music Group.

He has worked in the Department of Producing and Management for the Performing Arts since 2015.

He is Executive Producer of the forum‑festival Jazz Across Borders (Saint Petersburg), the festivals Sochi Jazz Festival and Sirius Jazz Festival (Sochi), «Triumph of Jazz» (Moscow, Tula, Saint Petersburg, Stavropol), «Jazz Seasons in Leninskie Gorki» (Moscow Region), «The Future of Jazz» (Moscow), and «Sakhalin–Hokkaido Jazz» (Yuzhno‑Sakhalinsk, Sapporo), and Musical Director of the Skolkovo Jazz Festival at the Skolkovo Innovation Centre.

In 2018 he served as Executive Producer of the largest event in the history of Russian jazz, International Jazz Day in Saint Petersburg, organised by UNESCO, the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz, and the Igor Butman Foundation. He is a guest expert for UNESCO and the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz.

His research interests include communications and copyright.
