From 1990 to 1993 he studied at the Ufa College of Arts in the class of Honoured Cultural Worker of Russia and the Republic of Bashkortostan V. V. Bashinsky. In 1998 he graduated from the Ufa State Institute of Arts in the class of V. P. Sukhanov, Honoured Artist of Russia and the Republic of Bashkortostan and People’s Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan. In 2001 he completed a postgraduate assistant traineeship at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in the class of F. R. Lips, People’s Artist of Russia and Professor.
He is a laureate and diploma‑winner of all‑Russian competitions including:
- the Young Bayanists of the Volga Region Competition (1992);
- the Ninth Open Competition for Young Musicians of Bashkortostan (1993);
- the First All‑Russian I. Ya. Panitsky Competition (1995).
He is also a laureate of international competitions, including:
- the Fiftieth Coupe Mondiale in Reinach, Switzerland (1997, First Prize and World Cup winner);
- the International Competition in Klingenthal, Germany (2001, Third Prize);
- the Città di Lanciano Competition, Italy (2000 and 2001, Third Prize);
- the Azolla–Zolotaryov Competition, France (2001, Second Prize).
He has also received awards at international festivals, including:
- the festival in Kragujevac, Yugoslavia (1998);
- Russia–Japan: Bridge of Friendship (Moscow, 1999, State Historical Museum);
- Young Virtuosos in Carnegie Hall (New York, 1999).
He maintains an active solo concert career and appears annually at festivals such as Moscow Autumn and The Sergei Berinsky Club. His programmes include transcriptions of classical works, original bayan repertoire and new compositions by young composers for solo bayan and for bayan with cello or violin.
Throughout his studies he held scholarships from the Mstislav Rostropovich and Vladimir Spivakov charitable foundations and from the New Names and Russian Performing Art foundations, and he took an active part in their concert projects.
He also pursues significant organisational and public work as President of the Friedrich Lips Charitable Foundation, Director of the Bayan and Bayanists International Festival, Director of the All‑Russian Festival of Contemporary Music for Russian Folk Orchestra Music of Russia and Director of the International Bayan and Accordion Competition.
He is Associate Professor at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, teaching at the Bayan and Accordion Department.
His students have become laureates of competitions including:

- the Petro‑Pavlovsk Harmonica Assemblies International Festival and Competition for Bayanists, Accordionists and Garmon Players (St Petersburg, 2009, First Prize and special prize from the World Club of Petersburgers «For the Petersburg Style»);
- the Pianello Val Tidone International Bayan and Accordion Competition (Italy, 2009, Third Prize);
- the Grand Prix de Roubaix International Bayan and Accordion Competition (France, 2009, Grand Prix, Cup and First Prize);
- the All‑Russian Panitsky Competition for Performers on Folk Instruments (Saratov, 2010, First Prize);
- the M. M. Ippolitov‑Ivanov All‑Russian Young Talents of Russia Competition (Moscow, 2011, Second Prize).
In 2013 he defended his PhD dissertation at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music on «Friedrich Robertovich Lips: Creative Activity and Its Role in the Development of Bayan Art in the Second Half of the Twentieth and Early Twenty‑First Century», supervised by Professor Lyudmila Sergeyevna Dyachkova, Doctor of Art History, in the specialism 17.00.02 Music Art.
