In 2006 he graduated with honours from the Gnesin Secondary Special Music School (College) (class of Honoured Cultural Worker of Russia L. A. Grigorieva), and in 2011 he graduated with honours from the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in piano performance (class of Professor S. E. Senkov), then completed postgraduate studies at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music (class of Professor S. E. Senkov).
In 2016 he completed postgraduate studies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg (Austria) in the class of Professor Andreas Groethuysen.
In 2016 he also continued his studies at the Sicily Piano Academy under Professor Epifanio Comis.
He has taken part in masterclasses given by such renowned professors as D. Bashkirov (Russia), P. Donohue (United Kingdom), M. Salazar (Mexico), V. Viardo (USA), Yu. Margulis (USA), P. Gililov (Germany), L. Natochenny (Germany), F. Gotlib (Latvia), E. Comis (Italy) and others.
He is a laureate of international piano competitions:

- winner in the nominations «Solo Concert Performance» and «Concerto Performance with Orchestra» at the 23rd International Piano Competition in Epinal (France), 2011;
- 2nd prize at the 5th International A. Rubinstein Competition, Dresden (Germany), 2012;
- 3rd prize and Audience Prize at the 1st International Competition «eMuse», Athens (Greece), 2014;
- participant in the 15th International Tchaikovsky Competition, Moscow (Russia), 2015;
- winner of the Grand Prize at the International Online «Grand Prize International Piano Competition», Paris (France), 2015;
- 1st prize at the 1st Eurasian Music Games, Astana (Kazakhstan), 2017.
He tours extensively in Russia and abroad – in Europe, Asia and the USA. He takes part in prestigious international festivals, including the Beethoven Festival in Bonn and PianoFest in Freiburg (Germany), the Bruckner Festival in Linz (Austria), «Musical Autumn» and the festival in Trecastagni (Italy), «Masters of Music», «Cherry Orchard» and the Festival of Piano Transcriptions (Russia).
He is also a regular participant in the International Festival «Russian Evenings». He has performed with the orchestras of the Mariinsky and Bolshoi Theatres, the Russian National Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the St Petersburg Capella, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Bratislava and other renowned ensembles.
Since October 2018 A. S. Dubov has taught in the Piano Department at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music.
He gives masterclasses; in 2016–2017 they were held in Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Israel and Palestine.
He serves on the juries of international competitions.
In 2018 a collection of piano transcriptions by A. S. Dubov of works by Mussorgsky, Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky was published. These transcriptions have already entered the repertoire of concert pianists, have been performed in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Carnegie Hall in New York and the Berlin Philharmonie, and have received high praise from such well-known musicians as B. Berezovsky, A. Volodin, A. Vardi, M. Voskresensky, Yu. Margulis and F. Gotlib.
