Biography

He has studied music since the age of five, began his concert activity at an early age and already at eleven gave his first solo recital. He graduated with honours from the Gnesin Moscow Special School of Music and from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where he studied with eminent teachers V. B. Nosina, L. N. Naumov and A. B. Diev.

Pavel Dombrovsky’s extensive repertoire includes numerous solo and chamber works of different periods and styles. The pianist maintains an active performing career in Russia and abroad.

He is a laureate and diploma winner of numerous international competitions, among them the Marguerite Long – Jacques Thibaud Competition, the Tchaikovsky Competition, the Scriabin Competition, the Horowitz Memorial Competition and the Balakirev Competition.

The students of P. A. Dombrovsky have become prizewinners of all-Russian and international competitions and lead active performing and teaching careers.
