Biography

Dmitry Dmitrienko is an Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor, and Director–Artistic Director of the L. G. Zykina State Academic Russian National Ensemble «Rossiya».

In 2001 he graduated from the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, and in 2004 completed its assistant‑traineeship. At various times he has worked with the N. P. Osipov National Academic Folk Orchestra of Russia and the N. S. Nadezhdina State Academic Choreographic Ensemble «Berezka».

Since 2005 he has headed the Orchestral Folk Instruments Department of the M. M. Ippolitov‑Ivanov State Music and Pedagogical Institute.

He is Artistic Director of the Festival of National Orchestras of Russia in the Kremlin and Principal Conductor of the All‑Russian Youth Orchestra of National Instruments of the Peoples of Russia.

He is the author of educational curricula, articles, and methodological manuals.
