Biography

Daria Bogdanova graduated from the specialist programme at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music (class of Professor Yu. A. Bogdanov) and then completed postgraduate studies at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music.

Laureate of international competitions:

  • «Romantic Star» named after Evgeny Malinin (Kassel, Germany, 2006);
  • «The Path to Mastery» (Moscow, 2011);
  • Diploma winner of the Francesco Moscato International Competition (Italy, 2015).

She took part in the second round of the M. Long International Piano Competition (Paris, France, 2015). She is a diploma winner of the 27th «Chopin Prize» International Piano Competition (Rome, Italy, 2017).

She has been a scholarship holder of the «New Names» Foundation, the «Russian Performing Art» Foundation and the Vladimir Spivakov International Charitable Foundation.

She has participated in numerous international festivals in Germany, the Czech Republic, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Japan and other countries.

She represented the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music at an international arts festival in Cannes, France, and took part in Gnesin Academy concerts within a student exchange programme in Barcelona, Spain.

She has appeared as soloist with the Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia and with the Symphony Orchestra of the Oryol Philharmonic as part of the Moscow Easter Festival under Valery Gergiev, and has collaborated with conductors S. Kochanovsky and V. Shkaptsov.

In 2009 she was awarded the President of the Russian Federation’s prize «Support for Talented Youth».

At present Daria Bogdanova successfully combines an active concert career with teaching, working as a lecturer at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music and as assistant in the class of Yu. Bogdanov, Honoured Artist of Russia and Professor of the Department of Piano Performance at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music (class led by V. P. Ovchinnikov).
