Biography

He graduated with distinction from the Lysenko Secondary Special Music School in Kyiv.

From 2014 to 2016 he studied at the Piano Faculty of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music (bachelor’s programme, class of Professor V. B. Nosina). His bachelor’s thesis was entitled «Johannes Brahms. Piano Concerto No. 1: The Realization of “Large‑Scale Form” in Performance Interpretation» (academic supervisor: Candidate of Art Criticism, Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology, Professor V. V. Aleev).

In 2018 he completed a master’s degree in piano at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music (class of Professor V. B. Nosina). His master’s dissertation, supervised by Professor V. V. Aleev, was entitled «The Symphonization of the Piano in the Genre of the Piano Concerto». During his master’s studies he was awarded the title «Student of the Year 2017».

Since 2018 he has been a postgraduate student in the Department of Analytical Musicology (academic supervisor: Doctor of Art Criticism, Head of the Department of Analytical Musicology, Professor I. P. Susidko) and is currently working on a PhD dissertation entitled «The Concertos of P. I. Tchaikovsky in the Context of Late‑Romantic Piano Art».

In 2019 he won a competition of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research for the best fundamental‑research projects carried out by young scholars enrolled in postgraduate programmes («Aspirants»), with the project «The Instrumental Music of P. I. Tchaikovsky in the Context of the European Tradition».

  • Balakirev All‑Russian Competition (Krasnodar, 2016) – First Prize;
  • Savshinsky International Competition (St Petersburg, 2017) – Grand Prix;
  • Benditsky All‑Russian Competition (Saratov, 2017) – First Prize;
  • 16th Russian Youth Delphic Games (Yekaterinburg, 2017) – Gold Medal.
