About project

The International Arts Forum «Romanticism: Origins and Horizons» is the first major project co‑organized by:

  • the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music;
  • the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory;
  • the Russian Schubert Society;
  • the A. Karamanov Centre for Support and Development of Contemporary Art.

IDEAS OF THE FORUM

  • Engaging with Romantic music of the past and present, and with the ideology of Romanticism.
  • Fostering interaction between classical artistic traditions and new progressive trends.
  • Leveraging the cultural potential of the present to advance humanitarian education aimed at the aesthetic and spiritual development of future generations.
  • Identifying key contemporary trends in the interpretation of Romantic music and related eras.
  • Presenting Russian performing arts in the world’s major cultural centres.
  • Exploring leading trends in global musical art.
  • Promoting mutual enrichment of national cultures.

GOALS OF THE FORUM

  • Identifying and supporting talented performing musicians and composers.
  • Establishing and deepening professional contacts among representatives of various musical genres.
  • Exchanging and applying teaching experience across different art genres in pedagogical practice.
  • Reviving the traditions of Russian patronage of the arts.
  • Engaging state institutions and commercial organizations in cultural and creative projects to support and develop young talents.
